Fucking fuck!

Two weeks at least repairing and dealing with shitty under-engineered German botch jobs and i fianlly have something approximating a functional UHV system. Yesterday I spent an entire day working on a sample getting the metal part clean with the newly repaired ion gun and the silicon flashed clean at base pressure. Today the sample is ready at 77K and the fucking analogue to digital converters turn out to be fucked. I pull open the electronics and see that it is completely fucked inside. Some cocksucker has decided to only bother with two risers to hold the ADC cards and so the board is sitting at a 30 degree angle and connections are almost touching everywhere (shoe knows where the actual fault is), nuts and other pieces are running around the bottom of the casing loose and its a fucking mess!

HATE HATE HATE!

This job has trained me to have unbelievable reserves of patience and calm but today... fuck this fucking piece of crap... fuck it in the ear!!!!!

Oh yeah and the project engineer in Germany is on holiday so there is only the B team who do not know about the inner working of the machine. So all I can do is wait to get an email back... no chance of getting the initial results before my trip next week. Gawd!
